The college football world is buzzing about Deion Sanders' decision to include five-star quarterback Julian "JuJu" Lewis on Colorado's Alamo Bowl scout team. Although Lewis hasn't officially joined the team yet, Sanders wants to give him a head start on his college football career.

During an appearance on "Coach Prime's Playbook with Romi Bean" on Thursday, Sanders revealed his plan to put Lewis on the scout team, where he'll face off against Colorado's first-team defense. Lewis won't play in the actual bowl game, but he'll participate in practices and possibly warm-ups.

“We gonna put his butt on scout team and let him run against the ones,” Sanders said.

When asked about Lewis will be on the scout team going against the 1’s for the Alamo bowl practices, Prime Time said:

“Tremendous… That young man is phenomenal what he’s done in high school football,” Sanders said. “The thing that people forget, he’s a really good quarterback. He has all intangibles but the kid is a winner. He’s won all his life. That’s what we love about him.” I mean, who doesn’t love a winner right?”

The college football world is weighing in on Sanders' surprise decision, with one saying:

“Homeboy just lost his state champ game lol.”

Lewis, set to graduate high school a year and a half early to join CU next month, closed out his prep career Wednesday night. While it wasn’t the ending he’d hoped for, his Carrollton (Ga.) High School team, which fell short in the Georgia Class 6A state title game, losing to Grayson, 38-24.

“Against the ones that defense is trash,” another fan said.
“No one gives a sh*t bout this pretentious dwag coach and this sh*t poverty ass program. No one gives a fu*k,” one fan said.

Here are some more reactions from fans.

“Gonna say this with no hate towards Prime, but I had no clue this was legal,” one fan said.
“That’s what all schools do with their recruits and transfers bruh. You new to this?” another fan said.
“What a crazy idea. He thinks of everything, how has cfb made it without his leadership,” one fan said.

Deion Sanders has a clear plan in place for prized five-star quarterback Julian Lewis

According to reports, Deion Sanders has ensured that his plan for Julian Lewis complies with college football rules, getting the green light from the Big 12 Commissioner.

Lewis will get a chance to showcase his skills before the 2025 season. He'll practice with the scout team, running the BYU Cougars' offense against Colorado's first-team defense. This will give the Buffaloes a sneak peek at what Lewis can do.

“We are going to see what you got,” Sanders said [H/t Clutch Points].

Sanders has another mobile quarterback, Kaidon Salter, joining the team from the Liberty Flames. With these two talented QBs on board, the future looks bright for Colorado football.

As Deion Sanders prepares his team to face BYU on Dec. 28 in San Antonio, Texas, he's got his eyes on the prize. A win would secure the Buffaloes' first 10-win season since 2016.
