The 2024 Preseason College Football Power Rankings are sparking plenty of debates. ESPN’s experts have ranked the top 25 teams, and there are some surprising results. Defending champions Michigan Wolverines, along with contenders like Ole Miss Rebels and Florida State Seminoles, didn’t make the top five.
Instead, the top five teams are:
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Oregon Ducks
- Texas Longhorns
- Alabama Crimson Tide
These rankings have stirred mixed reactions from fans. When College Football Report shared the list on social media, fans had plenty to say:
"How DARE you,” a fan commented.
“Not too terrible,” another fan wrote.
“Bama can and will literally smack every team on this list ahead of them….,” one fan wrote.
“Number 10 [Florida State Seminoles] gonna lose to Memphis,” another fan wrote.
“ND, LSU, FSU a little too high but it’s not too bad overall,” one fan commented.
“ESPN is either on drugs, engagement farming, or simply just doesn’t know ball,” another fan commented.
The excitement is building around the 2024 season. This Saturday, No. 5 Florida State takes on Georgia Tech, and No. 24 SMU faces Nevada, kicking off an action-packed season.
