Making good reads in College Football 25 is critical for success in the passing game. There are some ways to significantly improve your chances of getting first downs and continuing to move the chains.
Former Virginia Cavaliers quarterback and NFL analyst Kurt Benkert broke down how players can easily get first downs against different defensive coverages.
The trick is to understand the coverage that the defense is showing and how they are utilized. Be careful, as your opponent could use a shell coverage in an attempt to trick you into throwing a bad pass. Tips and tricks to improve offense in College Football 25?
There are a lot of different techniques to help give the offense some clues into what defense the opponent is running that can help players in College Football 25. One little trick is to motion a player before the play is called. If a defender follows the receiver, you know that the defense is in man coverage. However, if the defender stays in the same position on the field, the defense is in zone coverage.
Another little trick is to understand your personnel. If you are using the South Carolina Gamecocks, do not be afraid to put wide receiver Nyck Harbor on a streak, as his 99 speed is not going to be easy to defend. If you do that and the defender is in man coverage, and more specifically press coverage, Harbor could likely get on top of his coverage.
In that situation, you can also have another receiver on that side of the field run a hitch route or an out route to see how the defending defensive back reacts. If he follows the streak route, the underneath routes are open. However, if the defender follows the underneath route, the deep route is going to be open for business.
There are some little tricks that players can use in College Football 25 to keep their offense on the field. Make sure to utilize the advantages that you can have in order to be successful in your gameplay.
