A native of Shillington, Pennsylvania, United States, Singleton recorded 2,043 rushing yards and 41 touchdowns his senior year and was named Pennsylvania's Gatorade Football Player of the Year in 2021. He was also declared as the top running back in his class as well as a five-star recruit after his school.

Nick Singleton committed to Penn State University in 2022, where he recorded 1,061 yards and a combined 14 touchdowns his freshman year and was named Second-team All Big-Ten and Big Ten's Freshman of the Year honors.
