How much does Sam Pittman make a year? A look at Arkansas coach's salary

Sam Pittman is in his fifth year as Arkansas coach and has been in the spotlight after his team suffered a 39-31 defeat against the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys in Week 2 of the season. While there are suggestions that Pittman's job could be on the line if things don't improve, some want to know more about his contract at Arkansas.

As per reports, Pittman signed a contract extension at Arkansas in 2022. His deal will keep him tied with the team until the 2026 season, with an option for an additional year. He will reportedly make a whopping $6.2 million in salary this year.

Pittman's contract with the Razorbacks includes a base salary of $6 million, including additional compensation. His salary is also increased by $100,000 each year he is retained by the team.

Sam Pittman was announced as Arkansas' coach on Dec. 8, 2019. His team finished with a 3-7 record in the 2020 season.

In the 2021 season, Pittman's Razorbacks posted a 9-4 overall record, including a win in the Outback Bowl. The 2022 season saw Arkansas finish with another winning season, posting a 7-6 record, along with a win in the Liberty Bowl.

The 2023 season, however, was a bit of a disaster, as Arkansas posted a 4–8 record, failing to qualify for a bowl game.

Although Pittman's Razorbacks opened the 2024 season with a dominant 70-0 win over the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, they lost to Oklahoma State in Week 2.
