Deion Sanders did his best to prepare for the 2024 college football season. While he worked on the fitness and wellness of his players, he was conscious of his own health too.
In a video posted on YouTube by Well Off Media in April this year, Sanders was seen visiting the Colorado kitchen during the spring practice. The coach had a warm chat with a chef and asked him for some tips. The Pro Football Hall of Famer was trying to get rid of his belly fat to be more fit.
“I told Chef I have to get rid of some belly fat,” Sanders said while facing the camera (timestamp 17:19). “I'm trying to get lean for the season. So Chef, explain to them what you have for me.”
Deion Sanders got some good tips from the chef. He had assembled a host of vegetables that can help in reducing fat and staying healthy. However, instead of the consumed raw, the Chef recommended being blended into juice.
“When I was in college, I opened a juice business and had a strong belief in the quality and the effect of juicing vegetables,” the Chef said (timestamp 17:28). “This is everything that's right here. One person in one day could eat that much produce.
“No one eats a whole head of celery, that's crazy. But you can drink it. You concentrate all the vitamins and minerals that are in there. Your body feels amazing for trying to cover with calories and some fat is the way to do it while staying healthy.”
Deion Sanders had a wonderful season in 2024 following great preparation
Following months of intense preparation, Deion Sanders led Colorado to a successful season against the odds in 2024. The Buffaloes finished the season with a 9-3 record, narrowly missing out on the Big 12 championship game.
It marked the first winning season for Sanders at Colorado. His first season in 2023 was a disappointing one. Despite starting with three wins, the Buffaloes finished the season with a 4-8 record, creating a lot of doubts about Coach Prime's ability to manage a program.
In 2024, though, Colorado produced the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (Shedeur Sanders) and Defensive Player of the Year (Travis Hunter). The team also produced the season's Heisman Trophy winner with Hunter claiming the coveted honor, among other awards.
Overall, it was a great season for Deion Sanders in 2024. He will hope that this is the start of something big in his tenure in Boulder.
