After an electrifying 2023 college football season, Steve Sarkisian finds himself in a sweet spot with one of the strongest quarterback rooms in the country, consisting of talent powerhouses like Trey Owens, Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers.
Owing to Manning's famous last name, many fans are interested in seeing him take the starting quarterback role, which would've been the case if Quinn Ewers declared for the 2024 NFL draft.
However, he decided to come back for another year, and as a result, Manning will be waiting for his turn to play, possibly for another year. In an interview during the annual Manning Passing Academy, Arch Manning opened up about his situation at Texas:
"I like the situation I'm in. I like Austin, I like the school. I like the coaching staff. I like the people in the building. (0:10)
"I think I made the decision to come to Texas to win games for them. And my best to contribute." (1:12)
Quinn Ewers on his relationship with Arch Manning
Texas' Arch Manning has been under the spotlight for his decision to stay with the Longhorns, as many expected and advised him to enter the transfer portal for more playing time and opportunities.
However, Manning has clarified his intensions to stick to the process with Steve Sarkisian and the coaching staff at Texas.
In a conversation with former NFL star Robert Griffin III, Quinn Ewers addressed the "outside noise" and talked about his relationship with Manning in a candid conversation:
"I think we're really intense competitors. And we all want the same outcome. But at the end of the day, I think I think we're better humans. And I think we're better people. And I think that we really enjoy each other's company in that quarterback room.
"I mean, during the season we go to we do quarterback dinners every Tuesday and we go have dinner together after Tuesday meeting so I mean, the room is, I've never been in a closer room. I mean, all three years. It's been a super close room." (18:40)
Fans would be interested to see if Arch Manning gets a chance to play in the 2024 college football season as the Longhorns enter their first year in the SEC.
