Deion Sanders had an electrifying start to his coaching career at Colorado, as the Buffaloes won three back-to-back victories against TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State.

However, their winning streak was put to rest following a devastating 42-6 loss against Dan Lanning's Oregon in Week 3, which was also one of the most-watched games of the 2023 season.

From that point on, Sanders and his team found themselves in a difficult spot as they faced seven more losses with just one more win.

Since then, Deion Sanders has made notable efforts to change things around for the upcoming college football season by strengthening Colorado's offensive line with five-star Jordan Seaton and UTEP transfer Justin Mayer.

He also inculcated more NFL experience into the coaching staff with Hall of Famer Warren Sapp and former Giants head coach Pat Shurmur.

In a conversation with Joel Klatt, Coach Prime expressed his confidence for the 2024 college football season, saying:

"I think we're better, not only on the field, we're better off the field, and that's not the insult to the guys that were here previous year, but I think we got better, man. I think I'm better. I think the whole thing is better. And we're not done.
"We're probably gonna have 10 to 15 more grown men that can help us right now on special teams, as well as offensively and defensively, added to this team, few from high school, several from the portal. So, I love what I'm seeing in spring practice. I love where I know we're headed." (25:30)

Joel Klatt believes Deion Sanders' Colorado can make it to 2024 playoffs

Deion Sanders will be facing the spotlight during the upcoming season to beat his 4-8 record. However, CFB analyst Joel Klatt talked about how the Colorado Buffaloes can secure a place for themselves in the 12-team playoffs this year and how Shedeur can play a big part in it:

"So, when I'm sitting here, I'm looking at your team, your improvement on the offensive line, and I'm thinking to myself, 'OK, if Shedeur only gets sacked half of the time – so, let's say less than 25 times, which is still a lot, by the way. There are guys out there, Bo Nix from Oregon got sacked like six times – I'm saying, like, if you go under 25, that's four more wins. Easy.'"

Deion Sanders will enter the 2024 season with talent powerhouses like Travis Hunter, Jordan Seaton, Shedeur Sanders and more. Fans would be eager to see the "Coach Prime" effect during his second year at Colorado.
