Oregon coach Dan Lanning has faced challenges in his career, be it starting his career as a graduate assistant or moving cities every few years.

Lanning did a great job climbing the coaching ladder, from Pittsburgh to Arizona State to Sam Houston to Alabama to Georgia to now being the Ducks' head coach. And his wife, Sauphia, has stood by him like a pillar through it all.

Dan and Sauphia are parents to three boys, Caden, Kniles and Titan.

During the latest feature by ESPN, Dan Lanning expressed a few hurdles the couple faced early on in his career due to his big goals and aspirations:

"I used to ride a bike to work whenever I was ASU, and one day I left the garage open and my bike got stolen. So that's why Sauphia had to start driving me into work. We had one vehicle that was working, and she'd load all the boys, and we'd drive at five in the morning to the office."
"I was really, really selfish early in my career, and I think Sauphia knew my dreams and aspirations, but they were probably strictly my dreams and aspirations, and she was like so on board for me to chase them."

The Lanning duo collaborated with Nike for a special project in Week 6 as Oregon secured a 31-10 win against MI State.

Sauphia is a cancer survivor, so the couple decided to take up the project and spread awareness about the disease.

The design aimed to honor those with the disease. The uniform color was yellow because Sauphia had battled osteosarcoma. However, the uniform's other elements incorporated different cancer types and their designated colors.

Dan Lanning talked the reporters through the process behind the idea in a press conference on Monday.

“I think we’ve all been affected by that, so they took a really cool idea and turned it into something neat. I think it will bring great awareness and some much-needed attention to a terrible disease,” he said, via Saturday Tradition.

After a win against Ohio State this week, the Ducks will face Purdue on Saturday.
