"I want this to work": Steve Sarkisian's wife Loreal Sarkisian once explained why she gave up her coaching career after meeting Texas HC

Steve Sarkisian's wife, Loreal Sarkisian, was once a track and field star for North Carolina A&T University and competed to qualify for the 2012 Olympics while clocking sub-13 second times in the 100m hurdles.

She later went on to coach at USC and the Florida Gators for a few years before switching her career to fashion when she met Steve Sarkisian. As she says, "two coaches can't be in a relationship for too long."

During an interview in September 2022 with Fox 7 Austin, Loreal talked about her journey from a track and field coach to a wardrobe stylist.

"I started in track and field from running at a young age then coaching, two coaches cant be in a relationship for long without it going to poop, so that led me to my next love, fashion," Loreal said.

"All that time i always had love for fashion but at the time of meeting him i was like, you know what, i want this to work but im not ready to stop working and stop helping people because that's what fashion is to me."

The couple announced their divorce on July 26, 2024, leaving many in the Texas Longhorns community shocked. The "First Lady of Texas Football" has been an important member of the Longhorns community.

Loreal often organized lunches for all the coaches' wives, supported players in their endeavors, made appearances in the Texas rallies, and most importantly, showed up to the gamedays with her stylish outfits that even left Nick Saban's daughter Kristen Saban and Deion Sanders' daughter Deiondra Sanders in awe.

When Loreal Sarkisian styled an all-black fit to a Longhorns game

During the Longhorns' game against BYU in 2023, Loreal went a different route from her usual gameday style, which is a mix of denim, burnt orange, tan, brown, and all of those colors that define Texas the best, but also kept the theme intact.

She styled an all-black outfit consisting of a black leather skirt from Balmain with a top and finished it off with a chunky black and gold belt.

To make the outfit look more "Texas," she carried an orange Chanel flap bag to match her orange and wore a black Air Jordan 1 retro high OG.

Fans would be interested to see if Loreal Sarkisian continues making appearances at Texas' gamedays after the announcement of her divorce from Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian.
