Illinois Transfer Portal Tracker: All players who have entered the transfer portal after the 2024 season

The 9-3 Illinois Fighting Illini had a fine 2024 season, but the transfer portal arrivers anyway. As Illinois gets ready for the Citrus Bowl and a matchup with South Carolina, a few familiar faces are heading onward. Here's our rundown of the Illinois players who have announced their entry into the transfer portal. There's still time for more names to be added, but here's the early tally.

Hugh Robertson, P

Robertson is a senior-to-be Australian punter who will turn 32 years old next month. No, that's not a typographical error. A starting punter in each of the last three seasons, Robertson has averaged 41.1 yards per punt and has never had a punt blocked. He'll have one year of remaining eligibility.

Henry Boyer, TE

Boyer spent three seasons at Illinois. He's a blocking-first tight end who has a total of three career receptions. He redshirted in 2022 and will thus have two years of eligibility at his new school, Kentucky.

Demetrius Hill, S

Hill is a defensive back who had a productive season at Florida International with 95 tackles in 2022. Hill has only played in one game with Illinois in two seasons and hasn't made a tackle. Hill has two years of eligibility remaining and the Florida product will doubtlessly look to return to his 2022 form.

Donovan Leary, QB

A backup quarterback, Leary had seen only a handful of snaps in three seasons with the Illini. Last season, in his only passing action, he completed two of five passes for 29 yards. The three-star recruit from New Jersey has two years of eligibility remaining.

Kenari Wilcher, WR

Wilcher has returned kicks for two seasons for Illinois and saw spot duty at receiver. In total, he returned 22 kicks for 477 yards and caught eight passes for 71 yards. A Florida product, Wilcher will have two more seasons of eligibility at his next stop.

Declan Duley, P

A top prospect as a punter, Duley did not see any game action in two seasons with Illinois. Accordingly, he'll have three years of eligibility left. An Illinois recruit, Duley was the No. 3 punter at Illinois in 2024.

Nate Guinn, TE

A Florida product, Guinn didn't see any action for the Illini in two seasons. Guinn will thus have three seasons left at his next stop. At 6-foot-6, Guinn could be a red zone target somewhere soon.

Hunter Whitenack, OL

A massive guard with starting experience, Whitenack played in 28 games (including three starts) in his three seasons with Illinois. Whitenack played in only four games in 2024, so the year will be his redshirt season and he'll have two seasons of remaining eligibility.

Kevin Wigenton II, OL

Wigenton had spent two seasons at Michigan State, starting six games in 2023. He came to Illinois and played in 12 games for the Illini. He should have two seasons of eligbility remaining.

Cal Swanson, QB

An Oklahoma product, Swanson didn't see any action in his two years at Illinois. The dual-threat QB will have three years of eligibility left.

Enyce Sledge, DL

A massive defensive tackle, Sledge saw minimal playing time at Auburn in 2023 and then saw minimal time with the Illini in 2024. Sledge had two tackles for the Illini, but given his 320-pound size, he will likely get another shot plugging the line for an FBS program.

Chase Canada, CB

A JUCO signee, Canada played in two games for the Illini. He still should have two seasons of eligibility at his next stop.
