The Alabama Crimson Tide are set to enter the post-Nick Saban era, as the legendary coach retired following the 2023 season. As players prepare for the first season under new coach Kalen DeBoer, offseason programs are underway.
In April, University of Alabama Director of Football Performance Nutrition Ali VandenBerghe shared some of the snack boards prepared for players this offseason.
"What we been rollin with lately … Colorful & nutritious snack boards and fresh post-practice recovery eats !! #FueledbyBama," VandenBerghe wrote.

VandenBerghe joins DeBoer at Alabama after spending the previous two years on his staff with the Washington Huskies preceded by a seven-month stint working on his Fresno State Bulldogs staff. The Crimson Tide begin their season on Aug. 31 when they host the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.
It's their first season since 2006 without Saban on the sideline. DeBoer will have big shoes to fill, as Alabama went 206-29 with six national titles in his predecessor's 17 seasons leading the program.
Nick Kelly believes Kalen DeBoer is winning the offseason
While the real test will come when the regular season - and more specifically, SEC play - begins this fall, Nick Kelly believes the Alabama Crimson Tide are winning the offseason.
Speaking on "The Paul Finebaum Show," The Tuscaloosa News beat writer said:
"I think he's winning the offseason, which that doesn't account for much in the wins column... but he's doing what he needs to do right now. He's saying the right things.
"He's talking to the right people. He's doing the right things. But it's all going to come down to can he win on the field in the fall. There's no reason to believe he can't because he's won everywhere he's been."
He noted that Alabama is thriving in recruiting:
"They're getting guys. I mean, the proof is in the pudding. People are committing. Right now, they rank in the top-five, top-three, I think, among the major recruiting services if you look at them so he's still getting people. I think what people forget is they retained some key staff in the recruiting department."

Despite the loss of Nick Saban, Alabama retained most of its second-ranked 2024 recruiting class. The Crimson Tide's 2025 class, which is the first class since Saban's retirement, is ranked second in the nation.
