Clemson Tigers starting quarterback Cade Klubnik's 2024 season ended following a 38-24 loss to the Texas Longhorns in the College Football Playoff first round. Klubnik had a great season with the Tigers, leading the program to a 10-4 overall record and 7-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Klubnik helped the Tigers secure the ACC title, taking a 34-31 thriller against table toppers SMU Mustangs. This season, the signal caller passed for a career-best 3,629 yards and 36 touchdowns to six interceptions. With another year of eligibility remaining, fans want to know whether he will return in 2025.
Is Cade Klubnik returning in 2025?
The short answer is yes. On Monday via X, Cade Klubnik announced his return for his final year of eligibility with the Clemson Tigers, the only program he has ever played since recruited out of high school.
"The story isn't over. See y'all in 2025," he tweeted.
Cade Klubnik, a highly touted five-star recruit from Westlake High School (2022 class) in Austin, Texas, committed to Clemson.
Over three seasons (2022-2024), Klubnik has accumulated 7,180 passing yards on 659 completions from 1,040 attempts, with a solid 63.4% completion rate. He has thrown for 57 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. In 2024, he posted a career-high 148.2 passer rating.
Additionally, Klubnik has proven his dual-threat capability, rushing for 784 yards and 13 touchdowns, including a career-long run of 55 yards.
Following the loss against the Longhorns in the first round, Cade Klubnik was emotional, knowing that some of his senior teammates won't play alongside him next year.
“I’m just trying to deal with the emotions of tonight,” he said in the postgame press conference.
“I got to play my last football game with a lot of these guys, so I’m not really thinking about me right now. I’m just trying to think about all the relationships that I’ve built over the last three years. That’s really all I’m thinking about right now.”
Klubnik has a strong roster surrounding him, which should help him scale new heights next season. At the moment, he's taking the offseason to charge up and return with renewed enthusiasm.
