Fans have discovered new aspects of the game and one of the most asked questions was whether cross-play was available in the new version of the game.

Cross-play is a feature that allows gamers to play against different opponents from different platforms in multiplayer mode and is available on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as long as players have an internet connection and get the updates.

It is an automatic process and does not require gamers to opt in, immediately starting the first time a player plays the game. On PS5, the settings for cross-play are found in the in-game settings tab while they can be found on the system settings for Xbox.

Players can disable cross-play by using the system settings on the Xbox and via in-game settings on the PS5.

Players get added to a matchmaking pool at the beginning of the game and different modes including 'Play a Friend,' 'College Football Ultimate Team,' and 'Road to the College Football Playoff.' It will enable gamers to invite their friends to a specific platform allowing them to play against each other. Dynasty mode does not support cross-play.

To find specific gamers, players can search for them on the EA Sports College Football Connect menu using the player search tab to find them via their platform identifier (PSN ID on PS5 & gamertag on Xbox).

Players will be able to view global leaderboards in all modes if they enable cross-play while those who do not enable it can only view leaderboards on their own platforms. Auction houses will also not be available across different platforms.

EA Sports College Football announces updates

The uptake for the EA Sports CFB 25 game has been massive which has occasionally led to the servers being overburdened and even crushing, a situation that the franchise has tried to resolve.

An update was introduced on Tuesday to solve bugs and issues in the game like wrong logos for teams like Stanford and UMass. The EA Sports development team also announced that adjustments were being made to the Super Sim Logic in dynasty mode since too many FCS sides were upsetting FBS sides.

The developers of College Football 25 will likely continue to bring in new updates regularly to sort out a number of small details as fans explore the deeper reaches of the game.
