Jack Tuttle is a quarterback in the Michigan Wolverines' program. A transfer from the Indiana Hoosiers, he has been their backup quarterback since arriving in 2023.
Tuttle hasn't played a snap this season as the Michigan Wolverines face the Minnesota Golden Gophers this weekend. Will he play this game, as the Wolverines have been struggling at the quarterback position all season?
Jack Tuttle Injury Update
Jack Tuttle is unlikely to play for the Michigan Wolverines against the Golden Gophers.
Tuttle has been out injured since the start of the season and has been recovering from his injury. He has been dressed for the last two games but hasn't done anything on the sidelines.
While Michigan coach Sherrone Moore hasn't said anything about Tuttle in the build-up to this week's game, he talked about the QB's condition ahead of the Wolverines' game last week against the USC Trojans.
"Jack has been throwing in practice, just having some minor setbacks, I just go with the doctors what the doctors say on that one," Moore had said.
When will Jack Tuttle return?
His return date is not known, and Tuttle has been ruled as questionable on the Wolverines' injury report for the Golden Gophers game. However, Moore's aforementioned quote suggests that once he's medically cleared, he could make an appearance.
Jack Tuttle is an experienced quarterback playing his seventh season in college football. After being a backup to J.J McCarthy last season, 2024 could have been the year that Tuttle became the starting quarterback for the Wolverines.
He was a contender with Alex Orji and Davis Warren but missed out because of his injury. However, both players have struggled in the first few games of the season. After Warren's struggles, he was benched, and Michigan appears set on Orji as the starting quarterback for now.
However, if Tuttle returns near the end of the season, he could take over from Orji and use his experience to bring the Michigan Wolverines into the college football playoffs.
