The No. 16 LSU Tigers are on track to compete in their fourth consecutive bowl game. With their current record, Tigers coach Brian Kelly has successfully put his team in a position to play in the postseason.
LSU (6-2, 3-1 SEC) has four more games left in the season but has already clinched its chances of participating in a bowl game with its win in Week 8.
Kelly led the Tigers to a blowout 34-10 victory in Week 8 against the Arkansas Razorbacks (5-3, 3-2) on Oct. 19. It was LSU's sixth win of the season and third against another Southeastern Conference team. Although LSU has met the requirements to compete in a bowl game, Kelly will still need to keep his team from ending the season on a losing streak.
In Week 9, LSU lost 38-23 on the road to the then-No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field. The setback hasn't hurt the Tigers' chances of playing in the postseason, but they'll want to get a win in their next game.
College football Week 11: Alabama vs. LSU
LSU has an open week for Week 10. In Week 11, the Tigers will face the No. 14 Alabama Crimson Tide (6-2, 3-2) on Nov. 9 at Tiger Stadium.
The Crimson Tide will come into the game with momentum after a dominant 34-0 win over the then-No. 21 Missouri Tigers (6-2, 2-2) last Saturday. Alabama has been criticized this season for not looking focused enough under new coach Kalen DeBoer. However, the blowout victory briefly silenced the conversation and will give them confidence heading into their matchup against the Tigers.
LSU will attempt to get a statement victory over Alabama to get on the right track heading into the postseason. The Tigers are considered the underdogs but have the talent to stun the Crimson Tide in Week 11.
