Shilo Sanders has been the topic of discussion for the Colorado Buffaloes (2-1) ahead of their Week 4 clash against the Baylor Bears (2-1) on Saturday. The Colorado safety is dealing with an arm injury, but during the week, Sanders hinted at a potential return against Baylor.
Is Shilo Sanders playing today?
Sanders won't play against Baylor on Saturday. The safety is ruled out for Colorado's Week 4 game as he continues recovering from a broken arm.
In an Instagram video posted on his account on Tuesday, Sanders jokingly said he would play against Baylor if the video got 200,000 views.
"You want me to play this week? Alright yall since we play for clicks if this video gets 200,000 views ima play this weekend,” Sanders said in the video to his father and Colorado coach Deion Sanders.
Although the video did surpass 200,000 views, the medical staff at Colorado declared Sanders was not ready to play this weekend.
Shilo Sanders injury update: What happened to Colorado safety?
Sanders broke his arm in the first half of Colorado's 28-10 loss against Nebraska in Week 2. He provided an explanation of his injury last week while recovering in the hospital.
“After I made that tackle, I tried to lift my arm up." Sanders said. "It feels like your hands going like this, like your arm goes up, but your hand has no control.
“It feels like it’s somebody else’s hand. It didn’t hurt that bad, it just felt like adrenaline.” Sanders added.
Sanders posted two tackles against Nebraska before leaving the game. He subsequently missed Colorado's Week 3 win over Colorado State last Saturday.
Sanders had recorded nine tackles, six of which were solo, in Colorado's season-opening win against NDSU.
When will Shilo Sanders return?
As per reports, Sanders required surgery on his arm and his recovery was expected to take between two or three weeks. If Sanders heals quickly, he could make a return for Colorado against UCF on Sept. 28.
