No. 18-ranked Ole Miss (5-2, 1-2 Southeastern Conference) star wide receiver Tre Harris was injured during its 29-26 overtime loss to No. 8-ranked LSU (6-1, 3-0) on Oct. 12. He is listed as questionable heading into the game against Oklahoma (4-3, 1-3) today and his availability is in question.
ESPN insider Pete Thamel took to X and provided an update about Harris' status on Saturday morning.
"Ole Miss WR Tre Harris will be a game-time decision against Oklahoma today. He's expected to warm-up and attempt to play. He has 935 receiving yards on the season."
It remains to be seen what the coaching staff will decide on after the pregame warmups.
Tre Harris injury update
Harris was injured in Week 7 against LSU. The Rebels had an open week after that game which gave Harris more time to recover. However, he is still not back to 100%. Neither the coaching staff nor Harris has discussed what the exact injury is.
What happened to Tre Harris?
Harris had 102 receiving yards and a touchdown against LSU, but after running a vertical route in the second half, he signaled to the sideline that he needed to exit the game. He did not return.
He was already dealing with other injuries previously but did not miss a game. Harris was even listed as probable before the LSU game.
When will Tre Harris return?
It is not yet clear what the official timeline is for Harris' injury. However, if he won't play against Oklahoma, he is not expected to be out for long.
After Oklahoma, Ole Miss will face Arkansas next week. Unless Harris suffers a setback in his recovery or reaggravates the injury, he should likely be available to play by then and for most of Ole Miss' games to close out its season.
