"It was just kind of sad" — Nick Saban's daughter Kristen Saban expresses regret for not having Miss Terry with her during labor

Former Alabama coach Nick Saban and Miss Terry, who have been married for more than 50 years, adopted their two children, Kristen and Nicholas Saban.

While both the children are big Alabama fans and made frequent appearances on Crimson Tide game days, Kristen was often more vocal about her support for the team. Kristen Saban married her ex-husband Adam Setas on May 30, 2015. The couple knew each other through their families and later spent time together while studying at Alabama.

Nick Saban's daughter, Kristen, had her baby during the pandemic in 2020, which prevented her mom, Miss Terry, from supporting her while she was in labor.

During an interview with Lance Taylor on "The Next Round," Kristen Saban spoke about how she had her parents on FaceTime while she delivered her baby, James.

"They were just kind of like, looking at me, and then when they pulled James up over the curtain, then we kind of flipped everything. But it's like, you know, if it wasn't the pandemic, my mom and Adam would have been right there, but Adam was there, but it was just kind of sad. Like, when you're a girl and you're having your first baby, you always want your mom there. Usually moms are always in the room for the most part."

"So we asked the hospitals, like, can we FaceTime my family? Like, why you guys are doing this procedure. They're like, yeah. So that was really nice." (15:00)

A look at Kristen Saban and ex-husband Adam Setas' Alabama-themed wedding

Kristen Saban and Adam Setas fell in love in high school. The two grew up together when Nick Saban was appointed as Michigan State's head coach and lived in East Lansing, Michigan, just opposite Tom Izzo and Adam's family.

The couple tied the knot in 2015, and of course, the biggest Alabama fan, Kristen Saban, had to inculcate some Crimson Tide vibes to the wedding.

A major part of the wedding ceremony took place at the Bryant-Denny Stadium. The couple danced to iconic "sweet home Alabama" tunes, and they exited the wedding in a Rolls-Royce accompanied by fireworks.

Kristen Saban and Adam Setas are now divorced. The couple and their families never addressed the reason publicly, although a former Bachelorette contestant, James Taylor, accused her of having an extramarital affair in May 2024.
