Shedeur Sanders had a tough time in the pocket in the Colorado Buffaloes' loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Buffaloes' offensive line was no match for the Cornhuskers, who relentlessly pressured Sanders to either scramble or make risky decisions.
About two minutes before the end of the game, Shedeur left for the locker room. This elicited criticism from many because the game was still being played.
When asked about Shedeur's premature departure from the matchup, Deion Sanders told reporters that his son and star QB left the game early to get evaluated for injuries. The Pro Football Hall of Famer added that at that point of the matchup:
"It was a wrap."
Shedeur Sanders had a game to forget against Nebraska
Shedeur Sanders was constantly on the run in the Week 2 game against Nebraska. Sanders was pressured relentlessly and sacked five times. He threw for 244 yards, one touchdown and one interception, booking a poor 24.4 QBR.
Despite his best efforts, Sanders couldn't will his side out of an embarrassing loss to their long-time rivals. The Colorado Buffaloes were limited to 260 total yards, and Matt Rhule coached a defensive masterclass with the Cornhuskers.
What's next for Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes?
Shedeur Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes don't have time to sulk after a humbling defeat to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Instead, they have to prepare for a potential grudge match against the Colorado State Rams.
The last time these two teams met, there was some controversy regarding the Rams' defensive tactics. Travis Hunter was sidelined for a couple of weeks after a hit by Henry Blackburn.
Deion Sanders' team must play significantly better if they're to defeat their archrivals. The Rams are fresh off a dominant win over the Northern Colorado Bears.
