Jack Nelson is an American college football offensive tackle plying his trade with the Wisconsin Badgers for the last four years. Nelson played high school football at Stoughton High School where he was ranked a four-star recruit by every major sports outlet. In 2018 and 2019, he received the first-team all-state recognition by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. Nelson was the second-ranked player in the state of Wisconsin in the 2020 recruiting class.
The former four-star Stoughton native embarked on his collegiate journey with Wisconsin over offers from Michigan and Iowa. In his freshman season, Nelson played only one game and redshirted in 2020. The following year, he started all 13 games at right guard and was the second-leading rusher in the Big Ten. In 2022, Nelson saw action in 12 games and made his move to left tackle. The 6’7, 315-pound offensive lineman allowed only two sacks across 343 pass-blocking snaps. Last season, he earned every start at left tackle but struggled in the offense, leading the Big Ten with 13 penalties. The three-year starter at Wisconsin has decided to return for his final year of eligibility in the 2024 season.
