Jacob Knuth is a quarterback who recently transferred to K-State Wildcats after two unsuccessful years with the Minnesota Gophers. Knuth started his high school football career at Harrisburg High School where he helped the Tigers to their first-ever 11AAA State Championship in 2021. During his prep career, Knuth was regarded as the top high school player in South Dakota in the 2022 recruiting class. In his senior year, Knuth threw for 2,413 yards and 26 touchdowns while rushing for 527 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was honored with the 2022 Gatorade Player of the Year for South Dakota after an impressive senior year at Harrisburg. Knuth was a consensus three-star recruit and the No.28 quarterback in the nation. He was also the captain of the Argus Leader Elite 45 team and a two-time All-Conference selection.

Coming out of Sioux Falls as the top player in the 2022 recruiting class, Knuth started his collegiate football journey with the Minnesota Gophers. He held several offers from programs like the Air Force, Iowa, Iowa State, South Dakota, North Dakota State, and Kansas State among others. Knuth redshirted his freshman year after not seeing any action in 2022. The three-star recruit from Harrisburg entered the transfer portal and committed to Kansas State Wildcats with four years of eligibility remaining in 2023. Last season, Knuth once again did not see any action and will likely battle with Ta'Quan Roberson for the backup spot going into the 2024 season.
