Jacob Porter is an American college football player who most recently played for the Temple Owls as an outside linebacker. Porter started his football career at North Allegheny High School where he lettered in track and field for three seasons. He played as a defensive end and recorded 37 tackles and nine sacks in his senior year of college football. The three-star athlete from Bradford Woods initially committed to Yale University, but later decided to sign with Temple Owls to kick-start his collegiate football career. He received offers from top programs like Akron, Colorado State, Old Dominion, and Penn State.
In his true freshman season in 2022, Porter saw action in the final four games of the year and preserved his redshirt status. He saw his first career game in action against the UCF as a backup linebacker and also earned minutes on special teams. In 2023, Porter participated in the pre-season camp with the Owls and decided to leave the program after just one season. Due to his late decision, Porter was not eligible to play at another school and leave the program.
