Jake Strong is a quarterback who will play his second year of college football with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Strong started his high school football career at Northwest High School where he was regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects in the state of Texas. During his prep career, Strong set a school record for career passing yards, passing touchdowns, total yards and total touchdowns. He also led the school to its first District 3-5A Division I title in his junior year. He was ranked the No.34 quarterback in the class of 2023 and was rated a four-star prospect by ESPN. In his final season at Northwest, Jake threw for 2,002 yards with 25 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Coming out of Justin as the No.15 pocket passer quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class, Strong started his collegiate football journey with Texas Tech Red Raiders. He held several Division 1 offers from programs like Baylor, Kansas State, Penn State, Auburn, Louisville, Indiana, Colorado State, Florida, Georgia Tech and TCU among others. In his freshman season with the Red Raiders, Strong was listed as a backup quarterback and saw action in three games before redshirting the season. This year, Strong will seek a leading role for the Bulldogs in the 2024 season following Tyler Shough’s transfer to Louisville Cardinals.
