James Pearce Jr. was arrested during a traffic stop in December 2023, as per ESPN. Police said he was driving 63 mph in a 35 mph zone and had an expired temporary license plate from North Carolina. When they stopped him, they found out his driver’s license had been suspended. Pearce also didn’t show ID or proof of car insurance when asked.
Officers said he didn’t follow directions right away and had to be told more than once to turn off the car and step outside.
