Jay Norvell is a collegiate head coach for the Colorado State Rams in the Mountain West Conference since 2022. Norvell is the program's 24th head coach since he took over the position in December 2021. He was a defensive back for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the 1980's, before transitioning into a coach. During his playing career, Norvell earned a selection in the All-Big Ten team for the Hawkeyes in 1985 and also appeared in the Rose Bowl. From 1988 to 2001, Norvell served as an assistant coach in multiple positions for Northern Iowa, Wisconsin, and Iowa State.
