Jaydan Mayes is a talented sophomore cornerback for the Army Black Knights football team. Born in Fairfield, Ohio, Mayes played high school football at Fairfield High School, where he excelled on both sides. He was named as a running back for the All-GMC First Team in his senior year. Since joining Army, Mayes has continued to shine, becoming a key player in the team's defensive lineup. In the 2024 season, he led the Black Knights with three interceptions, including helping his team win over Temple where he grabbed his third career interception. Mayes' contributions on the field have made him a rising star in college football.

Mayes earned the award with 55% of the vote, following a strong performance in the Army's 42-14 win over Temple, where he recorded his third career interception as per cincinnati.com.
