Jeremiah Alexander transfer portal

Jeremiah Alexander entered the transfer portal on Friday. The Alabama linebacker announced his intention to leave Tuscaloosa only a day after Jihaad Campbell had declared for the 2025 NFL draft, reducing the depth in the Crimson Tide’s linebacker room.

Alexander is the 18th player to enter the transfer portal, marking a significant shift in the roster. He's also the sixth pass-rusher to do so, joining Jeheim Oatis, Hunter Osborne, Keanu Koht, Damon Payne Jr. and Jayshawn Ross in seeking opportunities elsewhere.

The former five-star prospect showcased his versatility over three seasons with the Crimson Tide, transitioning seamlessly between edge rusher, outside linebacker and inside linebacker roles. He's likely to offer something similar in his next destination.

Here’s a look at three potential destinations where he could continue his college career:

Top three transfer portal destinations for Jeremiah Alexander

#1 Nebraska

Nebraska has seen a host of linebacker departures in the current transfer portal window. These include Princewill Umanmielen, Stefon Thompson, Mikai Gbayor and Dasan McCullough. That necessitates the Cornhuskers to fill the depth in the room ahead of the 2025 season.

Jeremiah Alexander comes as a brilliant option for Matt Rhule and his team as they work to get better next season. With the versatility he exhibited during his time at Alabama, the pass rusher could help provide depth, not only in the linebacker role but also as a defensive end.

#2 Mississippi State

Mississippi State is another team that could snap up Jeremiah Alexander from the transfer portal. The team has already recorded a couple of portal exits in the linebacker room, including Khalid Moore and Avery Sledge, so it will be out to secure replacements.

Furthermore, the Bulldogs have lost even more players in the pass-rushing duty on the defensive line. That presents Alexander as a suitable option for Jeff Lebby as he looks to overcome the disappointing performance in his first season in Starkville in 2025.

#3 Colorado

Colorado will be another great option for Jeremiah Alexander to continue his college career. The Buffaloes will be without a host of linebackers next season after Nikhai Hill-Green, Trevor Woods and Morgan Pearson all made their way to the transfer portal.

Deion Sanders’ team will also be bidding farewell to a host of draft-eligible pass rushers, including BJ Green II. That presents Alexander as a quality and versatile option to have In Boulder. With Colorado's renowned activeness on the portal, he could easily be picked up.
