
As of August, Jim Mora is the head coach of the University of Connecticut. Mora began his coaching career in 1984 at the University of Washington. While at the University of Washington, Mora had the opportunity to be a part of two Rose Bowl teams as a player. He helped the Huskies land a berth in the 1985 Orange Bowl as a graduate assistant coach. On November 11, 2021, Mora was appointed head coach of the University of Connecticut football program, becoming the 32nd head coach in the institution's 1896 history. Mora led UConn to a 6-6 regular season record in 2022, his first season as a Storrs coach.
In 2025, Mora will begin his fourth season as a Huskie after guiding the team to one of their most prosperous seasons in UConn football history. The Huskies finished 9–4 in 2024 under Mora's leadership. In addition to having the first winning season since 2010, UConn's nine victories are the program's most since that year. It was the third time a UConn squad had won nine or more games in program history (2024, 2010, 2007, 2003). In recognition of his achievements, Mora was named the 2024 Head Coach of the Year by The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston.
