During his senior year, he recorded 42 receptions for 736 yards and nine touchdowns, leading his team to an undefeated season and a Class 8A state championship. He also excelled in track and field, winning four medals at the 2021 Florida Class 8A State Track and Field Championships, including a first-place finish in the long jump.

Jimmy Horn Jr. started his collegiate football career at South Florida in 2021, where he quickly became a standout player. In his freshman year, he appeared in 12 games, making five starts. During that season, he amassed 408 receiving yards on 30 receptions, taking on kick return duties. Horn’s sophomore season in 2022 saw even more success. He played in 11 games, catching 37 passes for 551 yards and three touchdowns. He excelled as a kick returner, with a remarkable average of 29.9 yards per return, scoring one touchdown. His consistent performances earned him a spot on the First-Team All-AAC as a kick returner.

After two strong seasons at South Florida, Horn transferred to the University of Colorado in 2023. In his first year with the Buffaloes, he quickly made an impact, recording 58 receptions for 567 yards and six touchdowns. He started every game of the season and finished second on the team in receptions. Horn also made headlines by throwing his first career passing touchdown in his debut against TCU, cementing his role as a key player for Colorado.
