John Curry is an American college football linebacker currently in his sophomore year with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Curry began playing high school football at Coronado High School where he accumulated 260 career tackles as a junior and senior. During his varsity years, he led Coronado High School to two district titles and playoff appearances. He was also a three-year letter-winner for the SMU Mustangs. He was considered a three-star prospect by major sports outlets and was the 45th linebacker in the class of 2023.
The 6-2, 195-pound linebacker from Lubbock chose to sign with Texas Tech over offers from Michigan and Northwestern. In his freshman season, Curry saw action in five games maintaining his year of eligibility while seeing action in special teams. Curry made an appearance in the Independence Bowl Victory over California. Throughout spring, Curry has practiced in the linebacker position and aims to improve in getting downhill.
