J.T. Tuimoloau is a defensive end for the Ohio State Buckeyes and will play as a senior in 2024. He hails from Edgewood, Washington, and attended the Eastside Catholic High School. Tuimoloau led the team to two 3A state championships in 2018 and 2019. He was rated the No. 1 overall prospect in the nation by 247Sports for his successful high school career. He also received the Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year and the SBLive Washington Player of the Year in 2021. He committed to the Ohio State University in 2021, in order to pursue a career in football and earn a bachelor’s degree in communications.
J.T. Tuimoloau had a stellar season in 2023, earning a selection in the All-American second-team honors. He led the team with 38 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks. He also earned a spot in the first-team all-Big Ten Conference honors for the second consecutive year. Tuimoloau started 26 consecutive games and played 39 games in three seasons for the Buckeyes. His most remarkable performance was against Penn State in 2022, he forced four takeaways which resulted in 21 points for the Buckeyes. For that game, he won the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week. Throughout his collegiate career from 2021-2021, Tuimoloau made 83 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and two interceptions.
