Boise State star Ashton Jeanty is among the college football players getting money through NIL deals. As a result, we have seen more star players being able to act professionally and treat their teammates.
While being asked questions at the Boise State press conference ahead of the Mountain West Conference Championship Game, Ashton Jeanty revealed he took his offensive linemen to dinner as a sign of appreciation for helping him be one of the favorites to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
"It was a good time and to show my appreciation for them. You don't get 2,000 rushing yards by yourself. They did a great job all year blocking for me and opening up holes, I couldn't do it without them. I really appreciate them but I didn't appreciate how much the bill was but it was a good time."
The Boise State Broncos have been an outstanding team as they are competing for the Mountain West Conference Championship against the UNLV Rebels. This is a great chance as the winner of this game could find themselves in the College Football Playoff.
Will Ashton Jeanty win the 2024 Heisman Trophy?
Ashton Jeanty has been an incredible player both on and off the field. He has been putting up unbelievable numbers, as he is currently fifth all-time in rushing yards in a season and 340 yards behind Barry Sanders for the best rushing season in college football.
So far this season, he has 312 rushing attempts for 2,288 yards (7.3 yards per carry) with 28 rushing touchdowns while also catching 18 passes for 102 yards (5.7 yards per reception) with one touchdown grab.
Despite the unbelievable season, Jeanty is in a Group of Five conference and going up against two-way Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter. While there is an argument for Jeanty, defeating a player who excels at two positions is tough to do.
We will find out next week when the finalists are announced as well as when the 2024 Heisman Trophy Award is presented if Ashton Jeanty is the winner. It is difficult to see but certainly in the realm of possibilities.
