Kalen DeBoer is the coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. He joined the University of Alabama earlier this year following Nick Saban’s retirement after 17 seasons as Alabama’s coach. DeBoer began his college coaching career at the University of Sioux Falls where he served as the head football trainer from 2005 to 2009. In his 26 years of coaching, DeBoer has succeeded at multiple levels and different roles. In his nine seasons as a head coach, DeBoer has managed a record of 104-12.
He took up his first head coaching job at Fresno State where he executed compelling techniques and led the program to a superb run for the next two seasons. In 2021, he was hired as the head football coach for the Washington Huskies. In the next two years with the Huskies, the team had lost only three games. Last year, DeBoer won the Pac-12 Championship and led the Huskies to the national title game. Kalen DeBoer was also named Pac-12 Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. Following the retirement of Nick Saban, DeBoer became the head coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2024.
