Kent State vs Miami (OH): Preview
Kent State is a 30-point underdog on the road while the over/under is set at 46 points.
The Golden Flashes have now been shutout three times this season as Kent State's offense has been an issue all season long. The Golden Flashes are led by Tommy Ulatowski who has thrown for 940 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Ky Thomas has 439 yards and a touchdown, while Chrishon McCoy leads the way with 594 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
“I’m disappointed in the loss. We didn’t play very well, we have to play better,” coach Kenni Burns said, via KentWired. “We have to learn from it, and we have to do better.”
A big reason for the lack of success is Kent State has plenty of injuries on the offensive line, which Burns says is an issue.
“We’re down a couple of O-linemen. Jimto (Obidegwu) didn’t play today, Cam (Cameron Golden) got hurt. We’ve been down a couple of guys for most of the year, but Jimto not playing really depleted us on the right side of our O-line,” Burns said. “We have to get healthy there. We have to play better, we know that. We have to get some bodies back.”
Kent State is led by Kameron Olds who has six sacks, and Josh Baka has 66 tackles.
Miami (OH), meanwhile, is on a four-game winning streak and is in contention to play in the MAC Championship.
“We didn’t play as well in the second half,” Miami coach Chuck Martin said after the win, via Journal-News. “We did put together two nice drives for field goals, but we did not play near as well in the second half. So we got to look at that..."
“We’re just tired,” Martin said. “It’s late Tuesday night, and we got to go to class tomorrow morning. We’ve got to get back and we got to work tomorrow morning. We’re very, very happy about the victory.”
The RedHawks are led by Brett Gabbert who's thrown for 1,946 yards, 16 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Keyon Mozee has 650 yards and two touchdowns. Javon Tracy has 514 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Defensively, the RedHawks are led by Corban Hondru has three interceptions, Brian Ugwu has four sacks, and Matt Salopek has 80 tackles.
Kent State's offense is disastrous as Miami (OH) should be able to cruise to a lopsided win here.
Prediction: Miami (OH) 37, Kent State 6
