Since taking over in 2016, Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs have arguably been the best team in college football. The Bulldogs defeated almost every team they faced with relative ease, relying on a hard-nosed defense and superbly choreographed attack.
However, in the 2024 season, the Bulldogs have lost two of their four games against ranked opponents. To make matters worse, they have another game against a ranked opponent in Week 12 when they face the Tennessee Volunteers.
Let's take a look at what veteran CFB analyst Joel Klatt had to say about Kirby Smart's program.

Speaking on "The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast" on Monday, Joel Klatt had this to say about the 2024 iteration of the Bulldogs:
"I usually take stock of Georgia, and you start to understand that the outlier moments for the Bulldogs are not the poor play. It is actually a great play.
"You see, in previous seasons, we have seen these games. Remember, against the Missouri Tigers a couple of years ago on the road, you know, the Kentucky Wildcats at times. We saw with the benefit of hindsight in those seasons that the anomaly, the outlier, was the poor play. This season looks different for the Bulldogs because the outlier is actually the quality play."
Klatt's views have some merit, as the Bulldogs have appeared inspired at numerous points this season. However, they're giving up more points than ever before, their quarterback play could be more secure, and opposing teams no longer fear hosting them on a college football night.
It's up to Kirby Smart to find solutions to the glaring problems. If not, the Bulldogs will likely miss the extended playoffs in the 2024 season.
What happened to Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs in Week 11?
In Week 11 of the college football season, the Georgia Bulldogs were limited to a paltry 10 points against a rampant Ole Miss Rebels side. The Rebels figured out Kirby Smart's team rather early and kept them from getting into the flow of the game for an extended period.
Hence, the Bulldogs' only touchdown was a two-yard run by Nate Frazier in the first quarter. From there, it was all Ole Miss, as Jaxson Dart regularly and precisely carved open the Bulldogs' offense.
Despite the loss, the Georgia Bulldogs can't sit back and sulk due to a pivotal game in Week 12 against the Tennessee Volunteers. The game is super important, as a loss could spell the end of the Bulldogs' post-season dreams in 2024. However, avoiding a loss in the game and for the rest of the season should be enough to squeeze into the expanded playoffs in the ongoing CFB season.
