Kurtis has one sibling, an older brother named Nathan Rourke. Just like his younger sibling, Nathan is also an American football player born on May 24, 1998. Nathan plays as a quarterback for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Nathan played college football for the Ohio Bobcats. He is known for his single-season CFL record completion percentage (78.7%) during the 2022 CFL season. Despite a football injury, he ran for 304 yards and seven TDs.

The 6 ft 1-inch player has played for teams like BC Lions in 2021–2022, Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, New England Patriots in 2023, New York Giants in 2024,

Atlanta Falcons in 2024 and returned to the Lions again in 2024 for his second stint.

However, because there were three quarterbacks ahead of him, Nathan was waived in July by the Giants. For the Falcons, he only played one preseason game before the franchise released him on August 11, 2024.

In his early career, Nathan was a minor football player for the Burlington Stampeders. He then played for Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School in Oakville for three years before moving to Edgewood Academy in Elmore, Alabama, sharpening his senior seasons of high school football.

Nathan then provided his service for the Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas before transferring to Ohio University and became the starting quarterback for the Bobcats for three years.

It is to be noted that as a top Canadian football player in the NCAA, Nathan was the first winner of the Jon Cornish Trophy in 2017. He won the title again in 2018.
