The Liberty Flames play the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Week 10 of the 2024 college football season. The Flames go into the game with a 5-1 record and will fancy their chances against the Gamecocks.
Let's take a look at the projected starting quarterback for the Flames and the depth chart.
Liberty's starting QB against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Week 10
Kaidon Salter is the starting quarterback for the Liberty Flames. He started all six games for the Flames in 2024 and led them to five consecutive wins before a close loss last week against the Kennesaw State Owls.
Kaidon Salter has amassed a stat line of 1,280 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions in six games. He has proven to be one of the better pocket passers around, as he does most of his work without trudging down the gridiron in pursuit of rushing touchdowns.
Slater's form has been one of the biggest reasons for the Liberty's impressive start to the 2024 season. The Cedar Hill-born shotcaller has recorded touchdowns in all but one of his appearances in 2024.
Liberty Flames' QB depth chart
Kaidon Salter isn't the only quarterback on the Liberty Flames roster. They also have Ryan Burger and Nate Hampton on their QB chart in the lead-up to the Week 10 showdown.
Ryan Burger is the QB2 for the 2024 college football season. He's in his sophomore season with the Flames and is learning from the coaches and incumbent starter. The Myrtle Beach High School product joined Liberty from Appalachian State ahead of the 2022 season and is still searching for a sustained role on Jamey Chadwell's offense.
Nate Hampton is the QB3 for this game. Hampton is in his junior year and is a homegrown talent. That's because he has been with Liberty since getting recruited straight out of high school and is gradually making his name up the roster.
While the Jacksonville State game might not require Ryan Burger or Nate Hampton to step in, it's still a breath of fresh air to know that the Gamecocks have competent backups. Expect Kaidon Salter to aim for the jugular against the in-form Gamecocks.
