Liberty vs Middle Tennessee: Preview

Liberty is an 11-point favorite on the road, while the over/under is set at 54 points.
The Flames have struggled as of late, losing back-to-back games to Jax State and Kennesaw State, which was the team's first win over an FBS school.
Liberty had hopes of being the Group of Five school in the college football playoff but that won't happen now.
“I told the team, our effort tonight, the way we played, we didn’t play clean, but our effort is the type of effort that’s expected from our program and what Liberty expects," coach Jamey Chadwell said, via A Sea of Red.
"We played more together tonight than probably we have all season long, truth be told, and it was in a loss, but I’m proud of the way they responded to last week.
"It’s disappointing, but we’re headed in a good direction, I know it’s hard to say after 2 losses, but if we can bottle the way we played tonight, as far as the effort and the mindset, then we got some better days ahead of us,” he added.
Liberty has been led by Kaidon Salter, who's thrown for 1,427 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Quinton Cooley has rushed for 715 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Flames are led by Dexter Ricks Jr., who has two interceptions, TJ Bush Jr. has 5.5 sacks, and Joseph Carter has 51 tackles.
Middle Tennessee, meanwhile, picked up a road win over UTEP. The Blue Raiders were backed by a solid defensive effort, which the team was thrilled by.
"We've been working on it all day at practice, really, just getting knock back," defensive lineman Shakai Woods said, via the team website. "That's all Coach Stew talked about, Coach Stew, Coach Hargreaves, Coach Mason, knock back at the point of the attack."
Middle Tennessee is led by Nicholas Vattiato, who has thrown for 2,296 yards, 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Omari Kelly leads the team with 811 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.
Defensively, John Howse IV has two interceptions, Brandon Buckner has three sacks, and Parker Hughes has 47 tackles.
Liberty has not played well this season, especially as of late, but they are much better than Middle Tennessee, as this is a good spot for the Flames to get back in the win column.
Middle Tennessee's defense has been solid, as they will make it close, but Liberty will get a much-needed win.
Prediction: Liberty 30, Middle Tennessee 21
