LSU Gov. Jeff Landry rips apart Brian Kelly & Co. for loss against Alabama as he defends the live tiger stunt

LSU's loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide has got the Tigers fan base in free fall. The Tigers' most important game of the 2024 college football season ended in a blowout loss and their playoff hopes now hang by a thread.

Louisiana's governor, Jeff Landry, was perhaps the most jarring in his criticism. Let's take a look at what Landry had to say about Brian Kelly and Co's defeat to the Kalen DeBoer-coached Alabama Crimson Tide.

According to On3 Sports, Jeff Landry said after LSU's Week 11 loss to Bama:

"Our Tiger, our live Tiger, unfortunately, disappointingly, was the only Tiger who showed up Saturday. I'm sorry."

The loss had to sting a little more for Landry as he spent a whole week getting a live Tiger from outside the state to attend the matchup. It was the first time in more than a decade that the Tiger left its residence.

Unfortunately for Landry, the live Tiger could not motivate his players to get the home win over the Crimson Tide. Crimson Tide starting quarterback Jalen Milroe had a career night in the game, running for 185 yards with four rushing touchdowns. The game ended 42-13, ending the Tigers' playoff dreams for 2024.

What's next for the LSU Tigers?

The LSU Tigers must pick themselves up quickly, as they have three more games before the end of the season. Their first game is against a Florida Gators side that has fallen below expectations this season.

However, the Gators have dealt with one of the toughest schedules in football. They aren't an easy team to face, and if the Tigers aren't careful, they could be stunned in Florida during Week 12.

After the Florida Gators game, LSU ends the year with matchups against the Vanderbilt Commodores and Oklahoma Sooners before they get their bowl game opponents. The team would like to end the year with a flourish so that Jeff Landry and the rest of the fan base will have something to smile about.
