Maine opened the scoring with 7:59 remaining in the first quarter when Pevy threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Heisey. Joey Bryson converted the extra point.
However, Oklahoma tied the game in less than a minute when Jovantae Barnes rushed for a 2-yard touchdown. Zach Schmidt converted the extra point.
The Sooners went ahead early in the second quarter when Taylor Tatum rushed for a 1-yard TD. Schmidt converted the extra point. Oklahoma extended its lead when Arnold rushed for a 1-yard score.
The Sooners continued to pile on the misery on Maine when Arnold connected with J. J. Hester for a 90-yard touchdown pass. The hosts pulled away even further when Barnes rushed for an 8-yard score and the Sooners led 35-7 at halftime.
Oklahoma opened the scoring in the third quarter when Barnes rushed for a 19-yard touchdown. Kaden Helms then caught a 9-yard touchdown from Arnold and the hosts were up 49-7 after the third quarter.
The fourth quarter opened with Schmidt converting a 24-field goal. Maine eventually got back on the scoresheet after two quarters when Nick Laughlin rushed for a 5-yard touchdown.
The Sooners grew their advantage further when Xavier Robinson rushed for a 4-yard TD. Liam Evans converted the extra point.
The game ended in a massive 59-14 win for Oklahoma, who improved to a 5-4 record, keeping alive its hopes of qualifying for a bowl game.
