He's a redshirt sophomore for the Bulldogs.
Why did Parker Jones gain internet infamy following Georgia's Sugar Bowl loss?
Georgia lost to Notre Dame 23-10 in the Sugar Bowl, which served as a College Football Playoff quarterfinal game.
During the game, Georgia receiver Arian Smith caught a pass for a 66-yard gain, but the Bulldogs were penalized 15 yards due to a sideline infraction because a referee ran into Parker Jones as he was celebrating the big play. Making contact with an official and being in their way on the outer part of the sideline can result in a penalty.
Georgia struggled offensively for the latter part of the game as Notre Dame held the Bulldogs to 62 rushing yards. Although the Fighting Irish had 244 total yards, they rushed for 154 yards and were able to capitalize on Georgia's miscues.
