Mario Cristobal's Miami Hurricanes are already thinking about the 2025 season and beyond, as any self-respecting football program should do. Recruiting is the key to long-term success in college football, as coaches such as Nick Saban and Kirby Smart have demonstrated.
Four-star offensive lineman Max Buchanan is the most recent addition to the commitments list for the Canes. When speaking with Canescountry last week, Buchanan said the following on his joining Miami:
"I like it a lot down there. I like coach Cristobal, I like Mirabal. I really like the staff at Miami. I get along with the players very well. The city, it's Miami. There are many business opportunities that I can take advantage of when I go down there, and there are many things I can learn."
However, Buchanan isn't the only one that Miami would like to have on board for the 2025 season. Here, we will take a look at three potential recruits who can join the Hurricanes for 2025.
Top 3 Miami potential recruits for 2025
#1 Elijah Griffin- DL
The Canes are among the top three schools chasing the five-star defensive linemen from Georgia. They face stiff competition for his recruitment from USC and Georgia, with Alabama and Arkansas also having an outside chance.
The 247 Sports profile describes Griffin as "A large, athletic defensive lineman with exceptional get-off at this stage in his development." He ranks eighth in the nation among all recruits and first among defensive linemen.
#2 Jaime Ffrench- WR
Jaime Ffrench is the 25th nationally ranked recruit for the 2025 class. He's a wide receiver from Jacksonville, Florida, and ranks fourth among players in his position in the national rankings.
Here, the Canes face stiff competition from several power schools, like Texas, LSU, Ohio State and Tennessee. He's No. 3 in the Florida rankings.
#1 DJ Pickett- S
Pickett is another native of the Sunshine State, which shows Miami's desire to lead the recruiting in their home state.
The safety from Tampa ranks as the top recruit from Florida, and the ninth overall in the nation. He's third among center-backs in the country. Other schools chasing him are Oregon, Georgia and LSU.
