The Pop-Tart Bowl on Saturday has been like a heavyweight fight between the 18th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones and the 13th-ranked Miami Hurricanes as the points are flowing. However, that is not the only sense of a heavyweight fight happening as cameras captured a fight happening on Mario Cristobal's Miami Hurricanes sideline between defensive linemen Simeon Barrow Jr. and Marquise Lightfoot during the first half.
People took to social media to voice their displeasure over the fighting between two Miami Hurricanes players as they were throwing punches at one another on the sideline.
"Throwing punches at a helmet always amazing me. Miami is just the worst!" One person replied to the post.
"Miami culture never changes," said another fan.
"How yall winning on national television and fighting on the sideline," another commenter posted.
Other people took this time to post some Pop-Tarts-related comments as a result of this situation.
"Number 10 said the best was strawberry un-frosted," one Twitter user commented.
"I'm guessing #10 said he liked unfrosted. That's about the only opinion I can think of with pop tarts that would instantly make me that mad," another comment on social media read.
While it is not common to see fights break out during a game, ones between teammates is less common. The way the defenses have played in this game (there were 59 points combined in the first half), it is no surprise that tempers from the defensive players are rising.
Where will Miami's Simeon Barrow Jr. be drafted?
This is the final game of Simeon Barrow Jr. as a member of the Miami Hurricanes as he is a senior and will be entering the 2025 NFL draft. He has showcased the ability to be a dominant presence on the defensive line as he has recorded 28 total tackles (12 solo, 16 assisted) with 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection.
Adding a 6-foot-3, 290-pound Simeon Barrow Jr. to the defensive line rotation in the NFL is certainly something teams are going to be jumping at to get.
The site Pro Football Focus currently has Barrow projected to go in the third round. He's been mocked at No. 78, so that might be the around the range he gets drafted.
