Miami vs. Louisville game summary

Miami opened the scoring when Andres Borregales made a 55-yard field goal with 8:34 remaining in the first quarter. However, Louisville responded excellently when Isaac Brown rushed for a 43-yard touchdown. Brock Travelstead converted the extra point.

However, the Hurricanes regained their lead when Ward picked out Jacolby George for a 27-yard touchdown. Borregales converted the extra point to put Miami up 10-7 after the first.

Miami extended its lead in the second quarter when Ward combined with Sam Brown Jr. for a 49-yard touchdown pass. However, the Cardinals struck back when Shough threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Mark Redman.

The Canes scored again when Raul Aguirre recovered a fumble in the end zone, following a forced fumble by Simeon Barrow. Borregales converted the extra point.

Travelstead made a 22-yard field goal with just a few seconds remaining in the second quarter, but Miami led 24-17 at halftime.

The Hurricanes opened the scoring in the third quarter when Ward picked out Xavier Restrepo on a 9-yard touchdown. However, Louisville gave Miami a scare when Caullin Lacy ran 100 yards on a kick return for a touchdown. The Cardinals then drew level when Shough picked out Ja'Corey Brooks for a 21-yard touchdown pass.

Miami retook the lead after Ward connected with Isaiah Horton for a 2-yard TD and was up 38-31 after the third quarter.

However, Louisville got on par again when Shough combined with Duke Watson for a 4-yard touchdown. The Hurricanes got their advantage back when Ajay Allen rushed for a 2-yard score. Damien Martinez then rushed for a 30-yard touchdown with 4:05 remaining to give Miami a cushion.

The Cardinals threatened a late comeback when Shough threw a 4-yard TD pass to Ja'Corey Brooks. However, Miami held on to win 52-45 and maintained its unbeaten streak this season.
