The Michigan Wolverines have been one of the more intriguing programs as they lost a lot of talent and their head coach since the national championship game. There are a lot of exciting players and games for the 2024 program, so let's take a deeper dive into the Maize and Blue and see some of the more exciting things for Sherrone Moore's team this year.

Top players for Michigan Wolverines this season

Donovan Edwards

Running back Donovan Edwards is going to be one of the top players for the Michigan Wolverines this season. He shared time with running back Blake Corum last season and still did well as he had 119 rushing attempts for 497 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and five touchdowns. He also was a solid player in the passing game as he finished with 30 receptions for 249 yards (8.3 yards per catch).

Will Johnson

Sophomore defensive back Will Johnson is expected to be one of the best overall players in college football. Last season, he finished with 27 total tackles (20 solo) while adding four interceptions and four pass deflections. It will be interesting to see how many times he is targeted throughout the regular season as he is going to be a significant force.

Biggest games on the Michigan Wolverines' schedule

Texas Longhorns (Sept. 7)

We don't have to wait too long for one of the biggest games to happen as the Michigan Wolverines host the Texas Longhorns in nonconference action. The look-ahead line shows the Longhorns as a 3.5-point road favorite in a matchup of two of the nation's biggest programs.

Do not sleep on the Quinn Ewers vs. Michigan Wolverines defense matchup as this will be a fun matchup early on this season.

USC Trojans (Sept. 21)

The USC Trojans are getting ready for their new conference as this is their first game in the Big Ten. It will be interesting to see how Lincoln Riley's defense looks against one of the country's best overall programs.

At Ohio State Buckeyes (11/30)

Anytime there is "The Game," this is going to be on a list. The rivalry is going to be great no matter what and at Ohio Stadium this year. The game is going to be exciting, and this is a chance for Michigan to continue its dominance over the Ohio State Buckeyes over the last few seasons.
