The Michigan Wolverines are having a rocky 2024 college football season just a few months after their national championship win under Jim Harbaugh. The Wolverines are currently 5-4 and have lost all but one game against ranked opponents.
Ahead of their game against the Indiana Hoosiers, let's take a look at the starting quarterback.
Michigan's starting QB against the Indiana Hoosiers in Week 11
Davis Warren has started five of the Wolverines' nine games in the 2024 college football season. Warren has recorded a stat line of 731 passing yards, five touchdowns, and six interceptions in those games.
The senior-year quarterback is currently in his third season with the Wolverines and his first as a starter. He has dealt with form issues this season and lost his starting job to Alex Orji in Week 4.
However, Orji wasn't able to hold down the spot, and following a two-game run with Jack Tuttle, the Wolverines decided to run it back with Warren. Warren has been significantly better since reclaiming his starting job. He has thrown three touchdowns and no interceptions in games against the Michigan State Spartans and Oregon Ducks.
Michigan Wolverines QB depth chart
According to the College Football Network, Alex Orji is the next in line to Davis Warren on the Wolverines depth chart. Orji has been with the Wolverines since 2022 and won a national championship with the program as one of the backups to J. J. McCarthy.
Orji was a three-star recruit from Sachse High School. Due to his dual-threat ability, he caught the eyes of scouts. He had offers from numerous programs but decided to take his talents to Michigan to play for the Wolverines.
Orji has amassed a stat line of 148 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in his 17 games as a Wolverines quarterback. He has also added 350 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns for good measure. Other quarterbacks on the Wolverines roster are Jack Tuttle, Anthony Arnou, Jadyn Davis, and Jayden Denegal.
