Mike Elko is the head coach for the Texas A&M Aggies Football Team. Elko began his coaching career as a graduate assistant and an inside linebackers coach for Stony Brook in 1999. He then went to Penn as a defensive backs' assistant in 2000 and was later named the U.S Merchant Marine Academy’s defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2001. Elko moved to Fordham as linebackers coach in 2002 and then became co-defensive coordinator in 2003. In 2004 and 2005, he served as the recruiting coordinator and helped the special teams at Richmond. Elko committed to Hofstra for three seasons and was promoted as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator. He managed Bowling Green for four seasons from 2009-2013, Wake Forest for two seasons from 2014-2016, and Notre Dame for one season in 2017. Elko joined Texas A&M in 2018 and left in 2021 to become Duke's head coach in 2022. Elko again joined the Texas A&M's program as the head coach in 2023.

His offensive line was ranked 12th among Power 5 programs, as they allowed only 1.31 sacks per game and were seventh in the country with only 51 tackles for loss.
