Florida State suffered a heavy 35-11 home loss to North Carolina at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday. Mike Norvell's team is now 1-8 on the season.

User @JeauShmeau posted a video on X showing the stadium with lots of empty seats during the fourth quarter of the blowout loss. However, he did explain that people began leaving earlier than that.

As Florida State endures one of its roughest seasons yet, fans took to X to express their frustration with Coach Norvell.

One fan wrote:

“Norvell lost this team, they suck.”

Referring to the Seminoles’ strong 13-1 finish in the ACC last season, another fan wrote,

“This what yall get for all that complaining yall did last year.”
“On campus empty stadium,” one wrote. “Shame”

A few other fans roasted the team for the lack of fan support.

“Looks like the Utep Miners playing....,” a fan wrote.
“How embarrassing,” a fan wrote. “Especially for the fan base obsessed with attendance ribbons.”
“Sad and all the defenders in the FSU media can add their names to the list,” another wrote.

In a season of disappointing firsts, FSU alum Mack Brown finally celebrated his first win against the Seminoles. This marks the second major milestone Florida State has allowed this season, the first being a historic loss to the Duke Blue Devils.

Linebacker Ethan Pritchard is staying optimistic about the Mike Norvell’s program’s future

Linebacker Ethan Pritchard, one of the Florida State Seminoles' 2025 commitments, is staying optimistic about the program’s future. Pritchard first visited the FSU campus in July 2023 for a summer camp, then made his commitment shortly after an official visit in October.

This week, he shared with Warchant that he believes head coach Mike Norvell can bring the Seminoles back to the top.

“You look at this season and some decommitments, but if you look at three or four years ago, it was the same exact way and he got it right,” Pritchard said. “In a couple of years down the line, you see what will happen. I feel it will be different.”

Norvell’s first two seasons in Tallahassee were challenging, with the Seminoles going 3-6 in 2020 and 5-7 the following year. But in 2022, they found their rhythm, finishing 10-3 despite a tough October stretch.

Last season, they went 13-0, won the ACC Championship, and only fell short in the Orange Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs.

But after such a disappointing 2024, it remains to be seen whether Norvell will get the chance to turn things around next season.
