In the lone battle of ranked teams slated for Week 6, the Missouri Tigers look to continue a perfect season. Ranked No. 9 in the nation, the 4-0 Tigers have been more lucky than good in escaping two recent upset bids. Meanwhile, No. 25 Texas A&M has rebounded from a season-opening loss to Notre Dame to post a strong 4-1 record and could break into the SEC race with a timely win on Saturday.
Missouri vs. Texas A&M: Score Prediction for Week 6
The Tigers have been living dangerously, winning their last two games by just nine total points and needing overtime to best Vanderbilt in the latter. The highly regarded Missouri passing game is just 64th nationally in passing efficiency, despite having veteran QB Brady Cook and all-everything receiver Luther Burden.
Meanwhile, A&M is rushing for almost 5.5 yards per carry. The Aggies are also hard to throw against, allowing five passing TDs while recording seven interceptions. The Aggies have won their last two games by a total of ten points, in part because freshman QB Marcel Reed has replaced underwhelming signal-caller Conner Weigman.
Score prediction: Texas A&M 24, Missouri 21
Missouri vs. Texas A&M Point Spread
At home, the lower-ranked Aggies are a 2.5 point favorite. The over/under of 47.5 reflects that the experts think this one could be something of a defensive slugfest, which is still a bit surprising in light of the potential of the Missouri offense.
Missouri vs. Texas A&M: Computer Prediction
Interestingly, ESPN's FPI disagrees with Las Vegas on this one. Even with the game in College Station, FPI gives the visiting Missouri Tigers the slimmest of edges, with a 51.8% chance of winning. A&M thus holds a 48.2% chance of victory. That's just under a 13-of-25 shot for Mizzou, with just over a 12-of-25 chance for the Aggies.
Missouri vs. Texas A&M: Betting tips
The Mizzou offense isn't seeing big expectations. Seeing the Tigers top 24.5 points is going at +125. Over 27.5 (a four touchdown and extra point game) is going at +195, which is always worth considering with Luther Burden prepared to suit up for Mizzou. Burden is at -110 to score a touchdown.
A&M running back Le'Veon Moss is +600 to score the first touchdown of the game. With 471 rushing yards on the year, Moss could be worth a longshot attempt there.
